Consolidated cargo: KRA restates importer-detail requirements

KRA restates importer-detail requirements for consolidated cargo and explains its work on electronic invoicing for individual importers.

What the source says

KRA says consolidators must declare complete details for each importer whose goods arrive as consolidated cargo. The requirement took effect on 13 September 2026. Required information includes the importer's name, PIN, identity card number, telephone number, item description and value. KRA is also working with consolidators to facilitate eTIMS invoices for individual traders and importers using consolidated cargo. Eligible VAT-registered importers may claim input VAT, subject to the applicable rules. The notice does not give a separate start date for this invoicing initiative.

Who should take a closer look?

Consolidators, customs agents, and traders or businesses importing consolidated cargo.

A PRACTICAL NEXT STEP

Check importer records with the consolidator and confirm that any input VAT claim has compliant supporting documentation.

An editorial suggestion for review, not an additional requirement imposed by the authority.
